Lavender

Just when you think you have it all figured out, along comes Lavender. At first glance, you may wonder what this simple bag lady with few worldly treasures has to offer. Chances are you would avoid her on the street and you’d certainly never invite her to dinner. It’s only when you take a closer listen that you get a sense of this endearing lady’s goodness. That’s when you see her true treasure—an abundance of accumulated wisdom.

Armed with a quick wit and old-fashioned common sense, Lavender has an opinion about everything. She’ll inspire, challenge, and surprise you at times but never disappoint you. Her wealth is in her wisdom.

Girlfriends

Let’s face it, men have limitations. For instance, they can’t replace girlfriends. Try as they might, they’ll never fully understand labor and delivery, nursing, hormones, menopause and mother’s guilt. Nor do they understand how a phone call or a quick cup of coffee with a close friend can perk up a woman’s spirit. The mystery for some men is that women get as much pleasure giving compassion, kindness, sympathy, care and concern as they do receiving it. However, there is one simple truth wise men get: women understand women. We need each other, so girlfriend, let’s have a cuppa and talk.

Invisible Mothers

Like a scene gradually fading from the screen, moms become invisible. No one hears her voice anymore. Her requests are ignored. It’s difficult to explain exactly how it happens…it just happens.

Although moms devote their lives to their families their efforts often go unnoticed and unappreciated. Like the builders of the great cathedrals they dedicate their lives to a meaningful purpose, so it really doesn’t matter if they become invisible. Just as the cathedrals have withstood the test of time, wise mothers know that God shows love to a thousand generations after her if her children are raised to love and serve Him… and that makes being invisible—at least for a season—worthwhile.

Adapted from Nicole Johnson’s Invisible Woman skit, Laurie cloaks her invisible woman with her own unique style.

Brigette Rose O'Sullivan Flaherty brings her Irish wit and wisdom to the stage, delivering what she feels is lacking today - good old-fashioned common sense.  She's raised seven children of her own, and is now starting in on the grandkids, who are quickly learning that Grandma means business, both when she disciplines and  praises with all the love that will fit into her strong hugs. If you're planning a baby shower, she'd be happy to share her thoughts with the expectant mum. Her smiling Irish eyes are sure to bring a chuckle and maybe a tear to audiences of all ages.

The Proverbial Woman

Meet the woman who started the Women's Movement! Back in the day, she was the ultimate definition of womanhood...and you thought "it all" began in the sixties. Oh, no! The pressure to have it all, do it all, and be it all has been going on for centuries, and this woman from the Old Testament Book of Proverbs started "it all".

Come and listen to the rest of the story as she explains how the unattainable expectations of perfectly rearing your children, perfectly managing your time, and being the perfect career professional began. You will laugh until your sides ache. Experience the exhilarating freedom from "it all" as she dispels the myths and confesses that - contrary to her centuries old bio - she wasn't perfect either.

With special thanks to the brilliant writer and dramatist, Nicole Johnson.
